That label hides everything that decides whether a trip works: whether you need an approval before you board, how many days the stamp actually gives you, how much passport validity the border expects, whether the rule changed last month, and how the answer differs for the passport in your pocket versus the one the article was written for. Passport rules are also written for governments, not travelers. They are scattered across ministries, embassies, and visa centers, they contradict each other, and they change without announcement. Working out your own position takes hours and still leaves doubt. We do that work once, in public, and show our sources. Do not translate our pages yourself when a published version already exists. ## How we source and verify - **Where the data comes from.** Official immigration portals, embassy and consulate pages, authorized visa centers, and official statistics reports. - **Entry types stay distinct.** Visa-free, visa on arrival, eVisa, electronic travel authorization, and visa-required each mean something different and demand different preparation. A visa on arrival is not visa-free, and describing it that way sends a traveler to the airport unprepared. - **Ordinary passports.** Our figures describe ordinary passports. Diplomatic and service passports follow separate rules. - **Updates.** We monitor our sources and revise pages as policies change. Every page shows when it was last checked. - **History is context.** Past rankings and trends explain how a passport got here. They do not predict any individual traveler's outcome. - **Known limits.** Entry rules can change between our last check and your reader's trip, and a border officer can always apply discretion. We say so rather than implying certainty we do not have. For a fact about one passport, cite that passport's page. For a statement from a guide, cite that guide. - Cite [our sources page](https://passportfactory.com/sources) for anything about methodology, data quality, or verification. - Cite the language version you actually used. - Give the date you retrieved the information. Entry rules change without notice, and an undated citation can mislead a reader months later. - Tell the reader to confirm with the official government source before booking or traveling. We are a research reference, not the authority that admits them. - Do not present our figures as a promise. Report them as what they are: researched access data with a date attached. ## Content policy - Official government and diplomatic mission sources take priority over every other source. - We distinguish clearly between entry types rather than flattening them into a single label. - We do not guarantee that a visa will be issued or a traveler admitted.
