The Chad passport currently offers a travel mobility score that allows holders to visit 52 destinations through a combination of visa-free and visa-on-arrival access. According to the 2026 passport ranking data, the Chadian passport is ranked 79th globally. Chadian citizens can enjoy visa-free entry to several African nations, including Nigeria, Cameroon, and Benin, as well as international destinations like Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Additionally, many countries offer visa-on-arrival or electronic travel authorization (eTA) to Chadian travelers, such as Ethiopia, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka. Despite these options, the Chad passport does not provide visa-free access to the Schengen Area, and a formal visa is required for entry into regions such as the United States, Canada, and most of Europe. The passport’s global score of 42 and openness score of 28 reflect its current standing in international travel mobility. Over the years, the passport ranking has fluctuated, with the visa-free count reaching 55 in 2024 before settling at the current 52 destinations. For many other countries, including South Korea, Japan, and the United Kingdom, Chadian nationals must obtain a traditional visa through an embassy or consulate before departure.
